Security Lighting Service
I. Applicability
Applicable to all consumers of the
Cooperative, subject to the established rules of the Cooperative.
II. Type Of Service
A Security Light shall consist of a
High Intensity Discharge lamp and fixture, installed on existing facilities.

IV. Taxes
An amount equal to the taxes assessed by any
taxing authority or agency of government for the sale or furnishing of
electric energy and/or service by the Cooperative to the consumer shall be
paid by the consumer to the Cooperative.
V. Conditions Of Service
Standard Fixtures:
This rate applies to standard
S/L fixtures. Special order or decorative fixtures must be paid for by the
member requesting such special equipment. Where special or decorative
fixtures are installed, the Cooperative’s maintenance will be limited to the
replacement of the lamp, ballast and standard photo control. Other
maintenance or replacement of such special fixtures is at the expense of the
member requesting such special equipment.
Metered:
Where member requests a security
light to be installed on a pole or building owned by the member, the member
must install the power source to the S/L location prior to installation of
the light. Such wiring must meet the National Electric Code and Cooperative
standards.
Where the
S/L is to be mounted on the side of a building, the mounting surface must be
prepared to the Cooperative’s specifications.
All
metered security light mounting locations must be accessible to Cooperative
trucks.
Maintenance and replacement is limited to the S/L fixture and its parts.
Average
kilowatt hour usage is as follows:

Unmetered:
The
Cooperative will furnish and install at no expense to the member, a security
lighting unit on an existing Cooperative pole where unmetered service is
available.
Where the
S/L is requested at a point other than an existing Cooperative pole, the
member shall pay for all expenses to install additional facilities required
for installation of the S/L. Ownership of all materials required for making
unmetered service available shall be vested in the Cooperative.
VI. Transformer Charge
Where installation of a transformer
is required to provide power for the S/L, the member shall pay the labor
cost of installing the additional transformer prior to the installation of
the S/L. In addition, each light served by the transformer will be charged
$2.00/month plus the above monthly charges.
VII. Mercury Vapor Phase Out
Due to the environmental concerns of
mercury, the installation of new security lights shall be high pressure
sodium. In addition, as mercury vapor security light fixtures fail, they
shall be replaced with high pressure sodium fixtures.
