Coles-Moultrie Electric wants you and your family to be safe around electricity

CMEC believes that no function is of greater importance than the safety and health of our employees, member/consumers, and the general public.  We believe that no operating condition or urgency of service can ever justify the destruction of property or the endangerment of life.

Helpful Tips

Safety Accreditation

  • Never go near downed power lines.

  • Never attempt to climb utility poles.

  • Never fly a kite near power lines.

  • Always call J.U.L.I.E. before you dig. 1-888-892-0123 or 811

  • Never climb trees that have power lines near them.

  • Never cut trees or tree limbs near power lines.

  • Never stick anything into electrical outlets.

  • Keep objects you plug in away from water.

  • Be careful when using any aluminum or metal objects such as ladders. Keep them away from overhead electrical power lines. Look up and live!!

CMEC adheres to the highest standards of safety by participating in the Rural Electric Safety Accreditation Program administered through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.  CMEC has been Safety Accredited for the past 24 years.  The most recent accreditation was received in May of 2006.  Each award is for the previous 3 years.

In addition to providing safety training for our employees, CMEC also provides FREE safety demonstrations for the public.  To schedule a safety demonstration, please contact our office.
